SeaChange Names David McEvoy General Counsel
Software Executive Brings Expertise in Technology Licensing, SEC Compliance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, Corporate Governance, Finance and more
ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading global multi-screen video software innovator, today announced the appointment of David McEvoy as its new General Counsel reporting to Michael Bornak, SeaChange’s Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Secretary and Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration.
McEvoy brings significant software experience as general counsel of several public and private companies, including ATG (acquired by Oracle), VeriFone Systems (acquired by GTCR), Aprisma Management Technologies (acquired by Concord Communications), and The Learning Company/Broderbund (acquired by Mattel and The Gores Group). McEvoy’s extensive merger and acquisition experience includes group general counsel at The Gores Group, a Los Angeles, Calif. based private equity firm and attorney at two major Boston law firms (Powers & Hall, PC and Hutchins & Wheeler).

McEvoy earned his juris doctorate from Boston University School of Law, where he also served as editor of the American Journal of Law and Medicine; a masters in economics from Ohio University, and bachelor degrees in political science and Spanish literature from Vassar College. He studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica and a Kennedy Fellow in South Africa.
