SeaChange’s Multi-Screen Demonstrations at CableLabs® Highlight Value of Open Software for Next Generation Video Services

Demos Include New Soft Box, Subscriber Experience and Advanced Advertising Solutions across Multiple Devices

ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC), the leading global multi-screen video software innovator, is demonstrating its open solutions at CableLabs® Winter Conference 2012 in Philadelphia, through March 13. With a focus on enabling next generation video services, the Company is featuring its intelligent video platform products including the Nucleus soft box gateway, the Nitro multi-screen user interface, and Infusion advanced advertising. Streaming to iPad, PS3, cable and IP set-top boxes is being demonstrated.

“CableLabs provides an important technology forum that’s critical in helping our industry demonstrate its new generation of video services. SeaChange is very pleased to bring its latest multi-screen and monetization solutions to this setting, including our new Nucleus soft box,” said Shiva Patibanda, General Manager of SeaChange’s In-Home Business Unit.

SeaChange’s Nucleus soft box is the next generation software solution for supporting cable operators’ transition from QAM to IP video so they can offer consumers multi-screen media sharing, whole-home DVR, access to apps and OTT content, using smart phones as remotes and much more. Integrating the SeaChange Nitro User Interface software and leveraging its open, standards-based approach, SeaChange produced the Nucleus soft box solution to blend the proven tru2way® interoperability with Internet functionality through HTML5.

The SeaChange Infusion Advanced Advertising Solution manages centralized ad operations and scales to 150,000 insertable channels and millions of ad assets as service providers migrate to consolidated regional and national advertising systems managed from increasingly web-centric and virtualized datacenters. Leveraging SCTE 130 and IAB VAST specifications, Infusion empowers service providers to determine which external ad servicing systems are sourced for dynamic placement decisions, while creating opportunities for cross-platform campaigns and leveraging Internet campaign management pricing for TV content.

The focus of CableLabs' conference demonstrations is to showcase for key technical, business, and strategic executives in the cable industry the latest in content and services that operators may employ to serve cable customers. Applications focus on services that may be delivered to consumers via cable's hybrid/fiber-coax networks, or by other means. The CableLabs conference is open only to member companies and demonstrating vendors.
