SeaChange AssetFlow Centralizes Video-on-Demand Content and Metadata Workflow Management

Software Solution Automates Enterprise-Wide Management of On-Demand Assets, Assures Delivery of Content to Any Device

ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading provider of software applications, services and integrated solutions to manage, monetize and deliver on-demand video to multiple screens, will introduce its AssetFlow(TM) content and metadata workflow management solution at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, Oct. 28-30. AssetFlow enables broadband video operators to easily and efficiently manage all of their video content from a central location regardless of the originating content source or viewing platform - TV, mobile device or PC.

"AssetFlow eliminates the often tedious and manually intensive process performed by operators on content ingested into their on-demand systems," said Alan Hoff, vice president of product marketing, SeaChange. "Content received from different sources such as live broadcast, pitched VOD, or over the Internet, typically requires transcoding, regionalization and normalization for delivery to any of the multiple screens the subscriber wishes to use."

AssetFlow delivers the cost-savings and operational efficiencies that are afforded by a centralized management system, while still providing operators with the flexibility and control to perform site- and content-specific functions. The system's single engine is designed to drive both internal workflow functions like metadata or asset management, as well as external workflows such as content encoding and transcoding.

"Rather than relying on numerous and often disparate workflows, AssetFlow functions as a single platform that automates this process and removes the complexity, enabling operators to control the entire lifecycle of any piece of content across multiple geographic locations," said Venkat Krishnan, senior director of worldwide strategic market solutions, SeaChange.

Based on Linux software, AssetFlow's open interface integrates seamlessly with SeaChange's Axiom On Demand open content delivery platform and third-party management tools and interfaces. AssetFlow scales alongside SeaChange's software and hardware systems, which provides operators the ability to introduce the solution to existing VOD operations and expand as other services and capabilities are added.

SeaChange's new AssetFlow solution and Axiom on Demand platform and applications will be highlighted at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in booth 4088.
