ACTON, Mass. & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Europe's television industry has honored SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC) and subsidiary On Demand Group for breakthrough achievements that help to propel service operators to new on-demand and advertising revenues and platforms. Awards and shortlisting by CSI (Cable & Satellite International) magazine, the IBC (International Broadcasters Convention), CTAM (Cable and Television Communications Association for Marketing) Europe, Visiongain's Mobile Content Awards and the Mobile Entertainment Awards recognize innovations and practical implementations of advanced digital video technologies for service launches and trials with customers including Virgin Media, OTE and 3 UK.

"SeaChange companies are honored to receive this validation of the real value of their ongoing actions to innovate so Europe's service operators can continuously enhance and monetize video to any screen," said Simon McGrath, CMO, SeaChange.

CSI Awards

Presented by Cable & Satellite International each year at IBC, the CSI Awards are among the industry's most comprehensive and competitive technology awards, designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence in cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasting and IPTV. SeaChange won the CSI Award for "best content-on-demand solution" for its on-demand advertising trial in London with Virgin Media, which "showed a combination of technical innovation and existing or potential market impact with their solutions," according to the judges.

IBC Innovation Awards

The IBC Innovation Awards celebrate excellence in technology and recognize the way that vendors and service providers collaborate to create advanced solutions which are satisfying technically and commercially. SeaChange, On Demand Group and Virgin Media were honored with "highly commended" accolades in the content delivery category from the IBC judging committee for groundbreaking efforts in proving the technical and business viability of dynamic VOD advertising insertion in the London trial.

CTAM Europe CAP Awards

CTAM Europe announced its third annual CAP (Creative Awards Program) winners at a ceremony in Lisbon last week, which recognize outstanding achievement and creative excellence in European cable marketing. On Demand Group and customer OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), Greece's largest telco, took gold for "new product or service launches campaign in the network and content provider division" for the launch of OTE's conn-X TV IPTV VOD service.

Mobile Content Awards

Presented by independent business information provider Visiongain, The Mobile Content Awards 2009 recognize the companies that have made significant progress within the mobile content sector. On Demand Group and Mobix Interactive with customer 3 UK won bronze in the category of "best mobile TV and video service provider" for 3 on Demand, which delivers a wide range of top-rated, full-length TV shows such as South Park and MTV's The Hills to mobile subscribers using any model or make of handset.
